Regional seminar on removing obstacles to recognition of foreign qualifications

On 5 and 6 November 2015 a regional seminar on removing obstacles to recognition of qualifications was held in the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports.

The seminar is a part of the annual agenda of the regional international organization  ‘Education Reform Initiative of South Eastern Europe’ (ERI SEE) established in 2005 via interstate agreement signed by ministers of education of all South Eastern European countries.

International ERI SEE organization has a vital role within the implementation of South East Europe 2020 Strategy, a regional strategy for growth and increase of competitiveness within the ‘Europe 2020’ EU Strategy which was adopted by ministers of economy in November 2013. ERI SEE was entrusted a role of the coordinator of activities in the field of education.

Ministry of Science, Education and Sports is an active member of the ERI SEE, especially when it comes to design and coordination of the activities related to removing obstacles to recognition of higher education qualifications in the region in order to increase regional mobility for the purpose of continuing education or work. Recognition of foreign qualifications is one of the three pillars of the Bologna process and is closely related to the other two pillars that make up the qualifications frameworks and quality assurance of higher education.

The seminar was attended by thirty representatives of the Ministries of Education, National Offices for the recognition of foreign qualifications (ENIC / NARIC network) and higher education institutions from nine countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Serbia, Moldova, Slovenia) an expert from Denmark, as well as several representatives of international organizations.
